Data Stored Locally on Your Device

StudyMap stores the following information locally on your device only:

• User profile — Your chosen username, theme preference, and display settings
• Unit information — Unit codes, names, year, session, and assigned colours
• Assessment details — Assessment names, weights, total marks, received marks, and due dates
• Recurring assessment data — Number of instances and "Best Of" aggregation preferences
• Academic configuration — Start year, sessions per year, and grading scale preferences

This data never leaves your device. We do not have access to it, and it is not transmitted to any servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Usage analytics or tracking data
• Device identifiers
• Any data to third-party services
• Your actual academic transcripts or institutional records

How We Use Information

The locally stored data is used solely to:

• Display your units, assessments, and academic progress
• Calculate current and projected grades based on your entered marks
• Generate workload heatmaps from assessment due dates
• Organise your course overview by year and session

Data Storage and Security

All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your academic information remains sandboxed within the app on your device.

We do not use cloud storage, external databases, or any form of data backup to remote servers.

Children's Privacy

StudyMap does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app stores all data locally and does not require account creation or personal information input.

Third-Party Services

StudyMap does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app uses only native Apple frameworks.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Deleting the app will remove all associated data
• You can delete individual units or assessments at any time within the app
• No data persists on external servers after app deletion

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there is no personal information for us to provide, modify, or delete. All your data remains under your control on your device.
